Blacksmithing classes in Cheshire

A.D.Price Metalcraft offers blacksmithing classes in Cheshire for individuals who are interested in mastering the art of the craft.

Blacksmithing classes by an expert

At A.D. Price Metalcraft, I provide  blacksmithing sessions to individuals who would like to try their hand at the craft of blacksmithing in a genuine Victorian blacksmith's forge or perhaps you would like to buy a voucher as a birthday or Christmas present for someone who would like to experience blacksmithing. A session starts at 10am and finishes at about 4pm with a half an hour lunchbreak halfway through so please bring a packed lunch. The task I allot my students is to make a hand forged hanging basket bracket and there's time to forge a second project of a diamond pointed leaf wrapped fire poker with a twist using the fire, hammer and anvil entailing a number of blacksmithing techniques to decorate and forge out the bracket.
My blacksmithing classes take place all year round on a  particular designated Saturday if a designated Saturday is not convenient for you then please book  a weekday in advance.
So get in touch with me, Alex Price, to book an available day or to buy a voucher for someone."

I have a city and guilds in welding and have done some steel work before but just fabrication
"I am really pleased with what I made, a few mistakes but Alex helped me get it right in the end, I have a city and guilds in welding and have done some steel work before but just fabrication, actually heating up the metal in the fire and bashing it on the anvil was new to me and exciting, I like blacksmithing, it's awesome and would like to pursue it as a career".

We offer classes on wielding.
"It's refreshing to know that blacksmithing is not a man's world anymore, I guess it's partly because of the tools and machines we have today compared to a century ago and Art and Design has changed the way we have looked at old wrought iron designs. I was a bit wary when entering Alex Price's forge but having quite an unassuming nature, he made me feel at ease, he was very helpful and made the session enjoyable. I have a creative background and have tried my hand at a few crafts like jewellery, ceramics and glass, I would like to combine what blacksmithing skills I learnt with Alex with glass, I reckon it would be a good combination".

I teach blacksmithing
"It's wonderful to see that steel is still being forged by hand today, even though it's a rarity now. All my life I've wanted to try my hand at blacksmithing, it was great to find Alex Price, a professional blacksmith, who teaches the craft not far from where I live here on the Wirral. It was a good day working in a real blacksmith's forge, making something using the fire, hammer and the anvil and a satisfying result at the end, the bird feeder I made, is a present to my wife as a 'thank you' for sorting out a blacksmithing session as a birthday present to me and it will take pride of place in our garden".
